Photography Influences: David Tipling Photographer & Film maker

Currently living in the Norfolk Broads, David Tipling’s interest in birds and wildlife began at the age of 8, and by the age of 14 the photography bug had taken hold. His first published image was in the Kent Bird Report and he is now one of the most widely published wildlife photographers in the world, with commissions in over 40 titles, working with several publishers.

He has appeared in Spring watch, and along with Chris Gomersall he has worked on TV programmes within Norfolk. He also writes a regular column for the EDP.

David Tipling’s imagery is stunning and a real inspiration, especially the pink footed geese. I have tried this sort of imagery but without success and it is something I would like to repeat with this assignment should the occasion arise.

Pink Footed Geese. Tipling, D.

This image of pink footed geese is a glorious celebration of movement colour and light.

Turtle Doves. Tipling, D.

I have never seen a turtle dove in the wild and this image shows them really well if in a tragic scenario. I am a firm believer that photographic imagery can speak louder than words and has the ability to create change.

Barn Owl. Tipling, D.

It has long been a goal of mine to photograph owls in the wild, and although this is not part of my project, should I get the opportunity to do so I will seize it willingly. The clarity and depth of field in this image are amazing.
